The TRB mid-year meeting is on In-vehicle Impairment Detection Technology: Applications, Implications, and Limitations, with objectives to: *Identify existing and emerging in-vehicle impairment detection technologies, their practicality and potential for implementation broadly including the limitations of these technologies and their true potential applications, *Determine how these technologies are being evaluated and validated. Discuss and identify criteria that should be established in determining the validity and reliability of such technologies, *Discuss policy implications for standards of evaluation, privacy concerns, and consumer acceptance of technology.
